The Good and The Forbidden

J.One Jelly Pack – Original and Black

October 3, 2018

I couldn’t quite remember exactly when was the first time I heard the hype on J.One Cosmetic. I only remember that many people were saying that it’s the super sticky primer.

After the success of J.One Original Jelly Pack, Ha Ji-won (the founder, a popular Korean actress, and trendsetter), launched another one into the line, Black Jelly Pack. Now this time, I was more intrigued.

Hey Glow was kind to sent me these two products for me to try. I’ve used them for the past few months and I’m ready to share my thoughts.

My Picks for Easy Contour and Subtle Shadows

May 19, 2016

It’s true. Makeup are there to make us look prettier. It’s there to enhance our features. To make us more confident. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

As for myself, I feel my face lacks the definition, stronger lines. I opt for contour powders to make up what’s missing. Below, I’m going to share you the products that I use to achieve it.

The Anti Fleek Highlighter – ADDICTION Cheek Polish Reflection

February 15, 2016

Hopefully, the title won’t offend anyone who likes the super shiny, right-in-your-face highlighters. There’s nothing wrong. It’s just not my thing and I prefer the understated, low-key makeup look in general.

Just so it’s clear, I rarely wear highlighters. I know for sure I do not master the art of highlighting. So for me to get a highlighter, in no less of a liquid formula, that’s like being obnoxious. But when I saw it on Noodles’ Instagram, I knew I can pull this off.

The Effortless ADDICTION Cheek Stick Rose Bar

January 1, 2016

This is clearly an overdue review. I should’ve reviewed this long ago but managed to being ignorant about it. That alone should tell you how much I love this product. However, realizing that I only have half of this left, it’s about time to do the deets 😀

Long time followers would know that I’m obsessed with ADDICTION by Ayako (here and here). The Japanese brand has an extensive, yet still well curated selection of products. It oozes simplicity with a modern edge. Its biggest charm for me are the cheek items. I find them to be very unique and incredibly versatile. Obviously, they left me wanting more. And more.

Meet the one product that has been in my constant makeup routine for months, ADDICTION by Ayako Cheek Stick in Rose Bar.

On The Go – Touch Ups and Essentials

June 3, 2015

Carrying a small bag is a challenge. I used to carry a LOT of stuff in my bag. The bags alone can weigh quite substantially. Adding a wallet, keys, charger, myriad of lipsticks.. I got myself a potato sack.

Earlier this year, I change things up by getting a small bag, Céline Trio. For the better, because I didn’t regret it at all and actually should’ve done it sooner. Alas, I was picky about which bag to choose. A smaller bag means downsizing and prioritizing, something that I was very excited about.

This post will cover beauty products I carry on a daily basis and when I go to a special occasion.

Complexion Routine: The Extra Mile

May 20, 2015

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a photo on my Instagram showing my makeup that I did to attend one of my high school friends’ wedding. I took this occasion as a challenge because I had PMS and my skin was breaking out pretty bad. Not just that, my skin was really dehydrated and there were quite a few of dry patches because I still had a flu back then. Bottom line, my skin wasn’t its usual self.

That day, I needed to look presentable (more than usual), polished without looking like I piled on a lot on my face; I never liked that look and I’m not about to start now. In this post, I will cover a lot of things, not just list of products, but also details on why I like them and how I use them. This way, I hope that I also can share my complexion makeup routine.

That being said, this is going to be a LONG post. Brace yourself. Grab a popcorn.

Without further adieu, here’s what I did and use on my complexion:

Majolica Majorca Cream de Cheek Kiichigo Cream – Flushed Cheeks, anyone?

December 9, 2014

Hello!

Can you believe it, it’s December! I know time flies fast, but it always astounds me every time it shows its speed. December means Christmas and festivities. My ideal Christmas would be snow and the whole winter wonderland. But, since I don’t have such here in Indonesia, I guess I just have to make do and play pretend, with makeup and clothes.

Anyway, set that aside, let’s get back to this. I’ve been wanting to do this look for.. as long as I could remember. That flushed cheeks with red lips. Not necessary winter-like, but it’s mostly inspired by little Asian, in particular Japanese babies with their plump red cheeks I want to chew on (kidding on the chewing part, obviously).

So, I went around and found this, Majolica Majorca Cream de Cheek RD 411 Kiichigo Cream.

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Sunscreen at daytime, always.
Double Cleanse at night, a must!

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

Thankfully, I do find it quite easy to follow journey and explore the fragrances. Many of the scents are easily loved, yet they don’t feel that mass either. Some of them are light enough to be combined with each other.

It’s also convenient that each scent is available in 3 sizes: 2.5 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml.

Do you have a favorite from this brand?
