THE FRUIT COMPOTE

The Good and The Forbidden

About

Hello!

Welcome to The Fruit Compote, the place where I’ll be putting my thoughts in, mainly beauty-related. Although, anything is possible at this moment, really.

Why the name, you say? Aside from being a complete hard-head not wanting anything literal, I thought this was very fitting. The word “compote” itself simply means a mixture. The fruit represents myriad of objects, including the color of my lipsticks and my skincare stash.

I love skincare and makeup. Clearly, skin first. I curate my skincare routine to suit my skin’s needs that can change in a blink of an eye. Seriously, I can grow a blemish in a few hours within the day. Hence, the mass amount of products with different purposes and levels of potency. I’m taking every detail to the T. I do believe skincare is an investment intertwined with heck a lot of commitment. If you’re looking for instant results, then look somewhere else. But if you’re in it for the long run, let’s walk together.

Most of the time, I source out my selection overseas, because the local offerings still aren’t good enough. It’s tough when you’re being offered pretty much the same thing for years. I don’t want my hands to be tied that way, so I go out to different lengths at getting them. I need to have a chemistry with a product before making a purchase and it’s not the easiest thing, but it’s always fun. I like having standards and that’s how I acquire a “taste” in sifting through millions of products to procure what I want.

I created this blog as an outlet, fruit of my thoughts. And yes, that is a major-pun intended. Taking care of my skin has changed my life and the way I appreciate myself. By sharing it, I have also found new friends and opportunities along the way. So it’s only natural if I received PR samples from time-to-time. But I give you my word that it will not affect the way I write. My opinions will always be honest.

There’s the Disclaimer section that I encourage you to read.

You can take a look at my previous writings over here at FemaleDaily.com. Do check it out though, so you can prepare yourself about what’s to come.

P.S. I’d describe my skin as combination, oily in T-zone + cheeks and normal everywhere else. Prone to dehydration. Not necessarily sensitive, but easily sensitized. Lots of PIE and PIH that take longer to fade than average people. Redness and sudden tiny blemishes are a common scene. Hates being under the sun for a prolonged time. Actually, I minimize being exposed to it as much as I can. My skin can get itchy easily because of it. More often than not, hormones and environment play a big hand in the way my skin behaves.

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Double Cleanse at night, a must!
Sunscreen at daytime, always – after moisturizer.

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

Ohayo~ maaf nge-spam 😆✌🏼Gak sadar tiba2 ra Ohayo~ maaf nge-spam 😆✌🏼Gak sadar tiba2 rambutku udah segini.. Muncul niat buat manjangin lagi deh. Between that and me starting to work out again, pastinya aku lebih sering iket rambut juga. Of course, aku uda mulai bisa liat helaian rambut yg rontok lebih banyak, terutama pas saat keramas… atau tiba2 ada random sehelai dua helai di badanku yg bikin tergelitik setengah annoyed karena gatel 😌

Kira-kira aku bakal kuat gak ya mempertahankan niatku 🤔

Kalian gimana? Curhat juga dong hair concern kalian..
