The Good and The Forbidden

Wishlist: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Overnight Mask

October 10, 2014

After a great success with KORRES Wild Rose Sleeping Facial at rejuvenating my sallow face and giving me that 10-hours-of-sleep look on my complexion, naturally, I’m interested in similar products. Google-ing around Sephora.com and found this array of overnight masks got me giddy.

This one goes straight into my wishlist, the one and only, First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Overnight Mask.

source

I have a long history with First Aid Beauty products. I’ve used the Ultra Repair Cream and Facial Radiance Pads. The first product had saved my skin during my Clarisonic purging. It had soothed and calmed my then-distressed skin. It was my savior. I don’t use it anymore though, I’ve given it away to someone who needs it more than I do. As far as Facial Radiance Pads, this is still one of my top staples. I’m on, I don’t know, my fifth or more tub now. LOVE THIS STUFF.

Anyway, referring to that history, I immediately get interested with this Facial Radiance Overnight Mask. I have a feeling this could be my skin’s new best friend.

What it is: (taken from Sephora.com)

A gentle yet effective overnight cream that brightens and hydrates skin while sleeping. This leave-on mask is a rich gel cream that is formulated with a powerful combination of ingredients to brighten, hydrate, and deeply nourish the skin. Upon application, the skin looks brighter; overnight as the actives are absorbed deep into the dermis, the mask performs its magic. Upon awakening, skin is hydrated and refreshed, revealing a brighter, more even-toned, and smoother complexion.

Let me just underline that part right there. I think we can all agree that any product that promises to brighten the skin (NOT bleaching) will get our attention. That healthy, glowing skin. Who doesn’t want that? I know I do. Second, my skin tends to get dehydrated easily, and when it does, I look like a greasy mess. So, I’m constantly on the search for products that are hydrating. Combine these two features together, we might have a winner right here.

Of course, after reading a glowing review from A Little Bit etc, I was like, “heck yeah, I want this!”

Have you tried this before? Let me know in the comments below!

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Sunscreen at daytime, always.
Double Cleanse at night, a must!

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

Thankfully, I do find it quite easy to follow journey and explore the fragrances. Many of the scents are easily loved, yet they don’t feel that mass either. Some of them are light enough to be combined with each other.

It’s also convenient that each scent is available in 3 sizes: 2.5 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml.
