The Good and The Forbidden

J.One Jelly Pack – Original and Black

October 3, 2018

I couldn’t quite remember exactly when was the first time I heard the hype on J.One Cosmetic. I only remember that many people were saying that it’s the super sticky primer.

After the success of J.One Original Jelly Pack, Ha Ji-won (the founder, a popular Korean actress, and trendsetter), launched another one into the line, Black Jelly Pack. Now this time, I was more intrigued.

Hey Glow was kind to sent me these two products for me to try. I’ve used them for the past few months and I’m ready to share my thoughts.

Lancôme Énergie De Vie

December 21, 2017

I must admit, ever since Lisa Eldridge was appointed as Lancome’s Creative Director of Makeup in 2015, I have been paying more attention to the brand. It’s on my radar. Of course, I know Lancome. The brand’s vibe for years was catered towards grown women so it was a little hard to connect with the products. Lisa‘s creative touch was only started to be seen in 2016 when Juicy Shakers are introduced. From then on, L’absolu Rouge (and few others) got a facelift among with numerous exciting new products. She made so many changes and improvements in the past couple of years. Her vast knowledge and effortless sense of style were put to really good use. I think Lancome made an absolutely brilliant move for snatching her up!

Though I can’t know for sure whether she has any say in the skincare department, I can almost feel her touch in this area as well. At the very least, I was waiting for the brand’s prospective change. There’s one particular skincare line that was introduced in last year’s summer that became one of my favorites in 2016 and it is the Lancome Energie de Vie*.

NUDE Overnight Repair Mask – One I Can Count On

October 24, 2017

Overnight masks, in general, are great quick fixes. They’re one step above wash-off masks and can truly deliver instant results. Please note, the term “instant” here means no miracle in the way that they will cure all of your skin problems – NO. So, if you’re expecting that, you’ll probably new here and need to read this post. Anyway, overnight masks are usually more nourishing and moisturizing on the skin, instead of being clarifying. I don’t think using a clarifying mask overnight is a good idea. Can you imagine how dry the skin will be in the morning? *shivers*

This is one of those products that I keep coming back to. It just works whenever my skin needed it. It just does.

Pick Up The Day with F.A.B. Facial Radiance Overnight Mask

February 12, 2015

I’ve mentioned before (here) about the start of an obsession with overnight masks. Actually, I made the order right after I published that post. I just couldn’t help myself 😀

I have been trying it for a few months now and ready to give my honest thoughts.

Wishlist: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Overnight Mask

October 10, 2014

After a great success with KORRES Wild Rose Sleeping Facial at rejuvenating my sallow face and giving me that 10-hours-of-sleep look on my complexion, naturally, I’m interested in similar products. Google-ing around Sephora.com and found this array of overnight masks got me giddy.

This one goes straight into my wishlist, the one and only, First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Overnight Mask.

Feeling perky: KORRES Wild Rose + Vitamin C Sleeping Facial

September 22, 2014

I remember I wanted this product for the longest time. Actually, it came in a set with the Wild Rose Buff Cleanser which I missed out on and was bummed about it. Then lady luck was on my side and the set came out again a few months later in Sephora. The set was sold for US$48, a good price isn’t it? The Sleeping Facial alone was US$48. So really, the Buff Cleanser is the bonus here. I didn’t think twice and I snatched it up, quickly!

The complete name is KORRES Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. It’s a mouthful, I usually just refer it as KORRES Wild Rose Sleeping Facial.

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Sunscreen at daytime, always.
Double Cleanse at night, a must!

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

Thankfully, I do find it quite easy to follow journey and explore the fragrances. Many of the scents are easily loved, yet they don’t feel that mass either. Some of them are light enough to be combined with each other.

It’s also convenient that each scent is available in 3 sizes: 2.5 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml.

Do you have a favorite from this brand?
