Parado Nail Foundation – My Nails But Better

April 18, 2018

When you go to Japan, there’s no way that you wouldn’t stop by one of its myriad convenience stores. They’re available in every few blocks, how can we not notice? During our recent Japan trip, we entered at least one every day, mostly to get some food for breakfast, snacks, drinks or anything that might catch our eyes.

Some convenience stores also carry few makeup products. You know, my eyes usually went straight for it whenever I see one. *chuckle* There is one particular purchase that made me really happy because it’s like finding a gem (for me who likes nail polishes). And that is ParaDo Nail Foundation.

Sapporo – Where Everything is Covered in Snow

April 9, 2018

Ever since we traveled to Japan for the first time in 2016, we’ve always wanted to go back. There was no doubt in our minds that when we get married, we will have our honeymoon there. In all honesty, we were very laid back on this trip. We’ve actually just booked the hotels and finish other arrangements (pocket wifi, JR pass, etc) a week before our departure, though we have set an itinerary, sort of.

The first city that we chose is Sapporo!

We departed from Jakarta to Tokyo (Haneda), before continuing our flight to Sapporo. The trick here was we had to change from international to domestic terminal. We picked up our baggage, boarded the airport bus then dropped them off at the transit counter and were set to go.

Except, there was a delay with the flight. A two hour one. We grabbed something to eat at the airport because it was getting late, we were hungry and tired. The flight took about 1 1/2 hour and we’re glad we did eat because as it turned out, there were no meals provided; just water and a packet of snack. The flight had a little bit of turbulence too. Whew, what a start!

Skin Dewi Hazelnut Cleansing Milk – A Game Changer

April 7, 2018

After the very fruitful 3-day Organic Skincare Workshop over at Skin Dewi last year, which you can read here, here and here, I got to try several of the skincare offerings. I kept hearing about this particular product being one of the best sellers during the workshop (thanks, Steven!). Naturally, I was intrigued because apparently, this product isn’t what I thought it was.

Skin Dewi Hazelnut Cleansing Milk* is the one product that changes the way I think about cleansing and how it can make such a huge difference to the skin. Curious? Read on.

Lip Products I Carried on My Japan Trip

March 22, 2018

On our honeymoon trip, I didn’t bring a single conventional lipstick. I didn’t want to bother with my makeup too much because it will affect the time we go out in the morning, even during the day. I wanted things to be simple, quick and easy, including touch-ups. And of course, it has to be moisturizing.

I guess you could say, these are the official my lip products of choice.

My Japan Holiday Trip 2018 – Skincare Routine

March 14, 2018

Just recently, we went for our honeymoon. We chose Japan because we’ve been wanting to go there again ever since our first time. There was no need to make a decision of where to go because we already knew!

Following the post on my skincare routine during the trip 2 years ago, I’m going to do the same for this one as well. It is still winter time. But this time, I was trying to be a little more straightforward and less fussy with the routine. Because we were going to be there for 2 weeks, I carried all full-sized products with me.

Keyword: focus on hydration and moisturization.

Shall we begin?

#TFCBeautyTalk: Things To Acknowledge When Starting A Skincare Journey (part 2)

February 18, 2018

Alright, this is a continuation from Part 1, where I try to compile a list of things I’ve personally learned during my skincare journey and how it might benefit for people who want to take better care at their skin. There’s so much more to it than just a set of products, believe me.

At this stage, I think this could be a series within a series. Honestly, there are so many bottled-up things I want to write. Information that get shared often repeatedly via DMs/messages. I will keep adding more as I see fit. I hope we can all learn a thing or two.

Enjoy!

#TFCBeautyTalk: Things To Acknowledge When Starting A Skincare Journey

January 30, 2018

Here we go, another session at #TFCBeautyTalk.

In the midst of people sharing their skincare routines *yes, I am one of those people* all over social media, I completely understand how overwhelming it can be. There are so many out there. Endless products with endless combinations. Never-ending new launches and releases. It can get intimidating, to say the least. Especially for curious onlookers who are just starting to gain an interest. Beginners. Newbies. Whatever you call it.

It makes it harder too because there are gazillions of information out there nowadays compared to say, 5 years ago and one’s ability to process them all is limited. Plus, the power of social media and influencers can make us FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Then before you know it, you fall into the black hole. Clueless and in limbo.

Enter this post. Compiling the essential things to acknowledge and remember as you’re on this journey. Let’s just say this is more of a guideline and a point of view from my glasses – based on my experience. Not dictating anyone because ultimately, the decision is yours to make and the risk is yours to bear.

Worth to read before we start. They’re all related.

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Double Cleanse at night, a must!
Sunscreen at daytime, always – after moisturizer.

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.
