LOTW – Rollover Reaction SUEDED!

This is a very long overdue review. This brand, shall I say, sparked a fire in the Indonesian beauty scene. It has also become one of the pioneers to inspire the local beauty industry to up the game. Everything about it is very different than the usual local selection. Finally. A brand that I can proudly wear and tell.

Rollover Reaction, a catchy name for a brand, with a tagline of “cosmetics for the creatively inclined”. launched earlier this year on March 2016. Since its inception, the brand is already breaking different doors and filling the yearning of a cool, indie local beauty brand.

LoTW: TATCHA Kyoto Red Silk Lipstick

More than a year ago, TATCHA posted a photo of Chloë Sevigny wearing a red lipstick and saying they’re coming out with one. I was head over heels and immediately put it on my wishlist.

How can I not?

The brand, as we know, is heavily inspired by the ancient geisha beauty rituals and their skincare line is built around the precious ancient book that Victoria Tsai, TATCHA‘s founder, came across on her travels to Japan. It was a brilliant move from TATCHA creating this piece because geisha and their signature red pouts are unquestionably inseparable.

TATCHA aptly named it Kyoto Red Silk Lipstick.

I fall into the nude lip, deeply.

Who knew, the girl who wears the brights and bold on a daily basis could fall for something that’s “flat”? I think it’s ought to change. It’s surprisingly inevitable.

Because deep inside, I was longing for the other spectrum.

LoTW: Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crèmes

For Spring 2015 collection, Marc Jacobs Beauty released a new formula for his lipstick line named Le Marc Lip Crème. This line replaces the Lovemarc Lip Gel that was a part of the permanent line up when the brand debuted on August 2013.

I have here with me today, 6 out of the 20 shade offerings (that were named after iconic women that have inspired Marc throughout his life) from the collection that I’m excited to show you. Hang back, sit tight and relax. This is going to be a treat, for the eyes.

You have sit in my wishlist ever since I discovered your existence a few years ago. Yes, you. You in that gorgeous shade. I waited for so long before I finally got the opportunity to see you in person and bring you back home with me.

Now that you’re here, let’s fill out this memories book, shall we?”

Call me mad as a hatter but the story is true. I waited, and waited. I hold off getting True Coral for the longest time even though I had a lot of chances. I know it’s going to be mine, but I want to pick this beauty up myself. It needed to be that way.

LoTW: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 09 Happy Nude Year

It’s nothing but a good sign when I get different shades from a lipstick line. With all the rage of liquid matte lipsticks storming into the beauty world, I’m still sticking to this one. After the success of all the other three shades, adding two new shades into the collection sounds like a well-reasoned idea.

In this post, I’ll be talking about one of them first, Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 09 Happy Nude Year.

On my trip to Hong Kong last November, one of the things in my beauty wish list was to get the fairly-new Tom Ford matte lipstick offerings in Black Dahlia and others. But to my disappointment, the Beauty Advisor told me that the counter only carry a couple of shades for now and was unsure if Hong Kong will carry the whole line up.

Feeling a little bummed, I gave the only two shades available a swatch and decided that I might be able to work this particular shade that I ended up getting.

It’s the Tom Ford Lip Color Matte 03 Pink Tease.
