LoTW: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets

January 19, 2015

I finally decided to do a review on this super sought-after liquid lipstick. It all started with my friend, Attika, raving about this and she somehow managed to convince me to buy one.

I usually don’t go for drugstore brands, but what the heck, there was a promotion on the drugstore. So I took a chance.

Apparently, my first FOTD post wearing it on my Instagram was noticed by big names like Andra Alodita and Lizzie Parra. Before we know it, people were practically go to different ends of the city to find this. It is sold out almost everywhere in Indonesia***.

No need to guess further more, it’s the epic Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet.

Sunday Riley Start Over – Stay Awake

January 13, 2015

Let me state this first before I start the review: I’ve always been skeptical about eye creams. I think it’s a marketing gimmick on getting us to buy more products from the brands, especially with all the “stellar promises”. The fact that there are a lot of people keep buying different eye creams from various price points and not noticing any difference adds more to the skepticism.

That being said, I’m also aware there are some success stories out there. So I guess, it must be a total preference thing. Which is why I’m going to say this, please take a grain of salt when you read this review (or any kind of review for that matter). What works for me might not work for you and vice versa, even if we have similar skin type/issues/problems.

Without further adieu, Sunday Riley Start Over Active Eye Cream.

Lip Care Routine – Night & Day

January 9, 2015

As much as I love wearing lipsticks, taking care of the vessel, a.k.a. the lips comes first. Because honey, no matter how phenomenal a lipstick is, there is no way I’m going to wear it with dry and chapped lips. OK, maybe I could, but it sure does feel more comfortable when I prep them well.

My lips are naturally dry. It’s even drier when I don’t have enough sleep, don’t drink enough water and the whole shebang. So I do need a good regime to keep them in tip-top condition. Not just because it’ll help with the lipstick application and increase the wear time, but first and foremost, who likes the feel of dry lips and the look of chapped lips? Ew. The thought of it cringes me.

Heads up, this is a long one.

January 6, 2015

Thanks to my friend, Amalia, I got hooked on Menard skincare. And thanks to her again, she tipped me on this awesome product I’m about to review. I didn’t need much convincing that I bought it right away.

I can tell you this. It was love from the get-go, Menard Pack Aserie Clay Mask.

Tutorial: Distressed Nail Art

December 30, 2014

It all started when I hauled a few nail polishes. I had a lot of ideas but I finally settled on one that I’ve been itching to do for a while. It’s called Distressed Nail Art and it’s inspired by none other, Chalkboard Nails.

I grabbed a few of my nail polishes and started to experiment a little bit on the nail wheel.

LoTW: Burberry Lip Velvet Military Red

December 18, 2014

♫ It’s the most wonderful time of the year.. ♫ ♪

Ooh yeah, I get to enjoy every little bit of Christmas whenever possible/available. The music, the decorations and installations are some of the things I wait for every year. Well, I could never get enough of Christmas songs so I usually play them from time to time. Same goes with wearing red lipsticks. While I can certainly sport them everyday, wearing them on the holidays feels so much more special.

Enter, the one that blew me away, Burberry Lip Velvet Military Red.

Thankfully, I do find it quite easy to follow journey and explore the fragrances. Many of the scents are easily loved, yet they don’t feel that mass either. Some of them are light enough to be combined with each other.

It’s also convenient that each scent is available in 3 sizes: 2.5 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml.
