Polka Dot Festival Nails

September 25, 2014

Polka dots are quite possibly the easiest nail art that anyone can master, even if you’re just a novice. You don’t have to use dotting tools, you can just use items around the house as substitute e.g. end of a bobby pin, toothpick, an unused ballpoint pen, round head pin.. Basically anything that has a round end to it, that you can make a dot with.

That being said though, I found having an actual set of dotting tools makes my nail-art life easier. It’s super affordable and an investment in itself.

For this polka dot nail art, I wanted to have something super colorful. In any nail art session, selecting color combination is always fun (sometimes stressful because I’m indecisive like that) and crucial in my book. This is the color palette I came up with:

Burberry Warm Glow Natural Bronzer No.01 – A Warm Veil for The Complexion

September 24, 2014

If you follow me on Female Daily, you would know that I have a deep affinity to Burberry Beauty. The UK brand remains to be one of my favorite beauty brands of all time. In my opinion, Burberry is one of the few fashion brands that managed to do a beauty line successfully. The collection and the execution is truly in line with Burberry’s image of effortless and timeless beauty.

Quite a while ago, I managed to do a bit of Burberry haul (here and there). I was ecstatic that I got a free GWP of a full-sized Burberry Warm Glow. It’s the one product I’ve been meaning to try ever since I landed on my first Burberry products a couple of years ago. YAY!

Feeling perky: KORRES Wild Rose + Vitamin C Sleeping Facial

September 22, 2014

I remember I wanted this product for the longest time. Actually, it came in a set with the Wild Rose Buff Cleanser which I missed out on and was bummed about it. Then lady luck was on my side and the set came out again a few months later in Sephora. The set was sold for US$48, a good price isn’t it? The Sleeping Facial alone was US$48. So really, the Buff Cleanser is the bonus here. I didn’t think twice and I snatched it up, quickly!

The complete name is KORRES Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. It’s a mouthful, I usually just refer it as KORRES Wild Rose Sleeping Facial.

Wishlist: Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope Lipsticks

September 19, 2014

I think I knew that I’m going to have a serious addiction with red lipsticks the moment I bought my first. There are just tons of reasons why I love these red pouts. That being said though, I do not just buy all the reds that I see. I handpicked them carefully. It’s a curated collection. Well, it applies to all of my lipsticks really, but I’m more selective when it comes to reds. Extra selective.

Comes in Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope Lipsticks, my latest lemming.

Marc Jacobs Daisy-Inspired Nails

September 18, 2014

While I don’t own the actual Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, for sure I can try to emulate the look! The nail art based on the eau de parfum is inspired by the ever-so-lovely Elle & ish. I love her tutorials! And this one turned to be pretty easy to do. Not to mention, the overall result is so pretty!

Face Oil Virgin: Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant +

September 16, 2014

Now, let this be an advance notice that I am a beginner in the whole face oil territory. I’ve only started using face oil dutifully sometime earlier this year. I began interested in face oil after reading DesZell’s article about the Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+. Believe me, I still had that why-the-hell-do-I-want-to-put-oil-on-my-face look. But then, lucky strike came along and I got this at an auction for an extremely good price, or shall I say, cheap! I thought, hey, why not give this a chance.

I tried this a couple of times, three, max, and decided I didn’t like it. Or, more like I was confused about it. I feel it didn’t quite fit right into my still-raw skincare regime. And so, I left it on my vanity table for the longest time. That was in 2013. Not until I read the article again and by then my skincare regime had fully grown, I felt the need to give this another try.

What’s Coming

September 5, 2014

Well, I’ve accumulated a few goodies lately so I will be reviewing them one at a time.

Obviously, someone’s got a problem…

I don’t like to rush when it comes to making reviews, especially when doing skincare. I like to really use them for quite a bit first, finding the nook and crannies of the formula, trying to fit them into the regime and see how they perform.

It’s mind-boggling really when I see a ‘review’ of a product from someone who’ve just used it for a day, or two. Nope, you will never see such here. OK, if I do, then it will be called a first impression 🙂

Of course, not every product that I got will always end up being reviewed. It will go into the bowl as I see fit. Watch out for nail art posts too, and food.

In the mean time, please do check out FemaleDaily.com for my previous writings.

Stay tuned!

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Double Cleanse at night, a must!
Sunscreen at daytime, always – after moisturizer.

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.
