Skin Dewi Hazelnut Cleansing Milk – A Game Changer

April 7, 2018

After the very fruitful 3-day Organic Skincare Workshop over at Skin Dewi last year, which you can read here, here and here, I got to try several of the skincare offerings. I kept hearing about this particular product being one of the best sellers during the workshop (thanks, Steven!). Naturally, I was intrigued because apparently, this product isn’t what I thought it was.

Skin Dewi Hazelnut Cleansing Milk* is the one product that changes the way I think about cleansing and how it can make such a huge difference to the skin. Curious? Read on.

My Japan Holiday Trip 2018 – Skincare Routine

March 14, 2018

Just recently, we went for our honeymoon. We chose Japan because we’ve been wanting to go there again ever since our first time. There was no need to make a decision of where to go because we already knew!

Following the post on my skincare routine during the trip 2 years ago, I’m going to do the same for this one as well. It is still winter time. But this time, I was trying to be a little more straightforward and less fussy with the routine. Because we were going to be there for 2 weeks, I carried all full-sized products with me.

Keyword: focus on hydration and moisturization.

Shall we begin?

#TFCBeautyTalk: Things To Acknowledge When Starting A Skincare Journey (part 2)

February 18, 2018

Alright, this is a continuation from Part 1, where I try to compile a list of things I’ve personally learned during my skincare journey and how it might benefit for people who want to take better care at their skin. There’s so much more to it than just a set of products, believe me.

At this stage, I think this could be a series within a series. Honestly, there are so many bottled-up things I want to write. Information that get shared often repeatedly via DMs/messages. I will keep adding more as I see fit. I hope we can all learn a thing or two.

Enjoy!

#TFCBeautyTalk: Things To Acknowledge When Starting A Skincare Journey

January 30, 2018

Here we go, another session at #TFCBeautyTalk.

In the midst of people sharing their skincare routines *yes, I am one of those people* all over social media, I completely understand how overwhelming it can be. There are so many out there. Endless products with endless combinations. Never-ending new launches and releases. It can get intimidating, to say the least. Especially for curious onlookers who are just starting to gain an interest. Beginners. Newbies. Whatever you call it.

It makes it harder too because there are gazillions of information out there nowadays compared to say, 5 years ago and one’s ability to process them all is limited. Plus, the power of social media and influencers can make us FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Then before you know it, you fall into the black hole. Clueless and in limbo.

Enter this post. Compiling the essential things to acknowledge and remember as you’re on this journey. Let’s just say this is more of a guideline and a point of view from my glasses – based on my experience. Not dictating anyone because ultimately, the decision is yours to make and the risk is yours to bear.

Worth to read before we start. They’re all related.

PATYKA Huile Absolue – Easily A Holy Grail Material

January 22, 2018

Oh, my goodness. Where to start.

Before I go in, let me just say that I felt extremely lucky and floored to be one of the first few people who can try PATYKA’s products and it has been a blast so far. This luxury organic Parisian brand (ECOCERT) is truly a breath of fresh air to the local mainstream market. With gorgeous boxes and nifty packaging, down to the formulations, they’re a complete package. I am really excited about their presence in Indonesia and I hope they continue to be.

If you’re a skincare junkie, especially if you appreciate niche (and cleaner) brands, PATYKA is worth the attention. They have quite a broad range of products to suit different skin types. There’s something that bounds to catch your attention. Albeit, they’re not the most accessible before but now we can get them at C&F online website (C&F is the company that brings PATYKA in). I am also still begging them to start carrying the products in more retail brick-and-mortar stores so more people can play around with the testers.

Out of everything I’ve tried, there is one hero product that is worth the reps and I need to share to you firsthand.
That is PATYKA Huile Absolue* and I absolutely adore it!

Hatomugi Skin Conditioner – For All Seasons

January 4, 2018

This is yet another product I procrastinated to make a review of because I’ve featured it often on my Instagram and I figured people would get it by now: I FREAKING LOVE THIS STUFF.

Alas, sending that message wasn’t enough. After continuous inquiries over the past few years, it’s only right that I give the proper spotlight of this product in The Fruit Compote. That way, I don’t have to keep repeating myself and I can just shove the link. LOL! Kidding! *but serious*

Meet my skin’s best friend, Imju Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner.

Lancôme Énergie De Vie

December 21, 2017

I must admit, ever since Lisa Eldridge was appointed as Lancome’s Creative Director of Makeup in 2015, I have been paying more attention to the brand. It’s on my radar. Of course, I know Lancome. The brand’s vibe for years was catered towards grown women so it was a little hard to connect with the products. Lisa‘s creative touch was only started to be seen in 2016 when Juicy Shakers are introduced. From then on, L’absolu Rouge (and few others) got a facelift among with numerous exciting new products. She made so many changes and improvements in the past couple of years. Her vast knowledge and effortless sense of style were put to really good use. I think Lancome made an absolutely brilliant move for snatching her up!

Though I can’t know for sure whether she has any say in the skincare department, I can almost feel her touch in this area as well. At the very least, I was waiting for the brand’s prospective change. There’s one particular skincare line that was introduced in last year’s summer that became one of my favorites in 2016 and it is the Lancome Energie de Vie*.

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Double Cleanse at night, a must!
Sunscreen at daytime, always – after moisturizer.

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

His & hers POV. His & hers POV.
It’s a beautiful sunny day, celebrating the laun It’s a beautiful sunny day, celebrating the launch of @jomalonelondon’s Blossoms Collection 2022, with Sardinian Summer as theme, right at the beachside 🧡 Warm weather, wind blowing swiftly and continuously, paired with greens, sparkling sand, clear blue sky and jeweled-colored sea. It’s picturesque.

For this collection, there are three, two new fragrances and one existing. They are Sea Daffodil, Bitter Mandarin and Silk Blossom. The notes are light, airy and flowing. Usually summer scents can be a little too strong on the citrus, tangy-acidic side, but these are put together that don’t make me feel heady.

I’m loving Sea Daffodil and it’s my number one pick from the collection. A mixture of Pink Pepper, Mandarin Orange as starters, Sea Daffodil and Ylang-Ylang as the heart, Sandalwood, Madagascar Vanilla and Vetiver to ground everything. Result? A smile-inducing scent. There’s this hint of sweet & creaminess that pulled me in right away. I close my eyes and I get the reference of that warm summer with the soft notes.

I’ll head down to the boutique soon to sniff Bitter Mandarin and Silk Blossom again. I have a feeling the latter might come home with me. It layers so effortlessly with Sea Daffodil and I can imagine it singing together with other scents too ♥️

Slide until the end 👀 I’ve always said the f Slide until the end 👀

I’ve always said the foundation of a healthy skin is hydration 💦 Gak perlu jauh2 dulu, fokus di hidrasi aja udah bisa bikin perubahan yg berarti. Basic skincare itu gak boleh dianggep remeh 👌🏼

Meet @blpskin Tremella Daily Hydrating Series! As an alternative to Hyaluronic Acid, dia bisa menahan air 500x dari beratnya sendiri. Molekulnya juga lebih kecil dari lebih mudah diserap. Dia juga bisa kasi semacam lapisan film untuk membantu jaga skin barrier dan menahan kelembapan itu sendiri.

“Daily” di sini berarti these products are for everyday use! Straight-forward sekali!

I think the texture itself is great dan cocok buat humid weather. Pak D lagi suka pake ini sekarang. Kalo aku malah suka layer another heavier product on top biar lembapnya makin pol.

Menurutku @blpskin #TremellaDailyHydratingSeries ini bisa jadi pegangan buat yang baru mulai pake skincare; pre-teen, teenagers, early 20s. Yang belum ada kebutuhan khusus, pengennya maintain skin hydration and of course building the good habit 👌🏼
