Clarins Lip Comfort Oil – WHY?!

July 21, 2015

OK, before I start, let me tell you that the product I’m about to make a review on is limited edition and it’s probably going to be tricky to acquire by now.

Wonk wonk wonk..

I contemplated on whether I should write about it or not, back and forth. It’s rather fruitless but I feel that this product worth a spot in TheFruitCompote.com.

So here it is, Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil 01 Honey.

LoTW: Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crèmes

July 4, 2015

For Spring 2015 collection, Marc Jacobs Beauty released a new formula for his lipstick line named Le Marc Lip Crème. This line replaces the Lovemarc Lip Gel that was a part of the permanent line up when the brand debuted on August 2013.

I have here with me today, 6 out of the 20 shade offerings (that were named after iconic women that have inspired Marc throughout his life) from the collection that I’m excited to show you. Hang back, sit tight and relax. This is going to be a treat, for the eyes.

THREE Balancing Cleansing Oil and Foam – Clean and Relaxing

July 1, 2015

I can’t, for the life of me, going to bed without having some kind of skincare ritual, even if it’s something as simple as cleansing. Double cleansing. I think it’s just embedded in me now.

A healthy complexion starts with proper cleansing. Once I realized the good difference a double-cleansing can do to my skin, I never looked back. It is simply crucial because it’s not just about getting a clean face, but the skincare that we applied afterwards will absorb better.

Meet my new favorite double cleansing duo: THREE Balancing Cleansing Oil and Balancing Foam.

Diptyque For The Face – Sensory Sophistication

June 29, 2015

diptyque is known for their luxurious, fancy scented candles and fragrances. I’m not really into them because I find them (the candles) to be too high of a maintenance for me. Besides, from what I’ve seen so far, a lot of people buy them for the decorative quality of it. You know, for the extra likes in the Instagram photo. Not for the actual lit action. Sure, I can re-use the glass container for my makeup brushes. But I just think that’s not enough to justify the purchase.

That being said, I am interested in the skincare line, L’Art du Soin (for the Face), which I wrote about my interest in them sometime ago here. To my surprise, they are available locally in The Papilion Duo, Pacific Place, Jakarta. Sadly, the mark-up was a little too much for me.

I knew, however, that I can get them in Hong Kong, in Joyce Beauty to be exact.
That’s where I got them.

LoTW: Tom Ford Lip Color True Coral

June 18, 2015

“Oh, hi there!

You have sit in my wishlist ever since I discovered your existence a few years ago. Yes, you. You in that gorgeous shade. I waited for so long before I finally got the opportunity to see you in person and bring you back home with me.

Now that you’re here, let’s fill out this memories book, shall we?”

Call me mad as a hatter but the story is true. I waited, and waited. I hold off getting True Coral for the longest time even though I had a lot of chances. I know it’s going to be mine, but I want to pick this beauty up myself. It needed to be that way.

Crème Simon – Rediscovering The French Skincare Brand

June 16, 2015

Every time there’s a new skincare brand comes into Indonesia, I get excited. Because the more the merrier! We all know we need more variety of skincare offerings here, don’t you agree?

The new-ish brand that recently landed on Sephora Indonesia is a brand that is new to my ears. But having to do a little bit of research beforehand and got invited to the intimate gathering/workshop last week, I have a better understanding about the brand’s history and philosophy. The event is hosted by Natalie Seah, Sales Manager of Crème Simon. She also shared quite a few tips and tricks!

Without further adieu, here’s Crème Simon.

On The Go – Touch Ups and Essentials

June 3, 2015

Carrying a small bag is a challenge. I used to carry a LOT of stuff in my bag. The bags alone can weigh quite substantially. Adding a wallet, keys, charger, myriad of lipsticks.. I got myself a potato sack.

Earlier this year, I change things up by getting a small bag, Céline Trio. For the better, because I didn’t regret it at all and actually should’ve done it sooner. Alas, I was picky about which bag to choose. A smaller bag means downsizing and prioritizing, something that I was very excited about.

This post will cover beauty products I carry on a daily basis and when I go to a special occasion.

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Sunscreen at daytime, always.
Double Cleanse at night, a must!

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.
