Peach Eyes with Purple Glitter Liner

December 16, 2014

I’m getting more and more encouraged to be more playful with my eye makeup lately. First and foremost, I’m not that skilled with it and secondly, I’m just too comfortable with my neutrals. Both combined, I’m stuck with one (or two) neutral eye shadows during a makeup routine. That being said, I can’t get my eyes off of the beautiful eye shadow offerings in multitude of shades. So, I (kinda) promised at myself that I will at least give a little more effort every now and then (more on the now), so I can justify the purchases of these more colorful items.

And here’s one of those efforts..

Crisscross Holo Nails

December 11, 2014

I was just going to wear a plain polish that day. Well, not that plain, it’s a hologram polish. It’s Cirque Vesuvius. However, every time I tried to wear this, there’s always something missing. Not quite right. I just feel the need to add something. The polish is beautiful, no doubt about that. But, I find it sort of blends in with my skin tone a little too well.

I tried to pair it with black polish, but it was okay, nothing too special. Paired it with a light blue (Essie Mint Candy Apple) and it didn’t go the way I had visualized.

Then, it came to me, something incredibly simple and yet effective: striping tape.

Majolica Majorca Cream de Cheek Kiichigo Cream – Flushed Cheeks, anyone?

December 9, 2014

Hello!

Can you believe it, it’s December! I know time flies fast, but it always astounds me every time it shows its speed. December means Christmas and festivities. My ideal Christmas would be snow and the whole winter wonderland. But, since I don’t have such here in Indonesia, I guess I just have to make do and play pretend, with makeup and clothes.

Anyway, set that aside, let’s get back to this. I’ve been wanting to do this look for.. as long as I could remember. That flushed cheeks with red lips. Not necessary winter-like, but it’s mostly inspired by little Asian, in particular Japanese babies with their plump red cheeks I want to chew on (kidding on the chewing part, obviously).

So, I went around and found this, Majolica Majorca Cream de Cheek RD 411 Kiichigo Cream.

LoTW: Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope – Private Party

November 27, 2014

Be prepared, this is one lengthy post.

From a wishlist to reality, that’s how I (try to) roll. It wasn’t an easy decision, you know. I don’t just buy a USD 50 lipstick in a snap like I have a money tree to pick onto. I need to have that sizzling chemistry going on before taking the plunge. After going back and forth, I (finally) decided on a shade.

Without further adieu, Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope in Private Party.

First Aid Beauty Blemish Patrol Pads – Maintenance + Quick Fix

November 25, 2014

For some reason, the name of the product I’m about to review reminds me of the “Bee-doo” scene from Despicable Me 2. Don’t ask me why, but it just is 😀

First Aid Beauty Blemish Patrol Pads sounds like the perfect answer to sweep away the fire (read: blemishes) and keep them at bay.

Wine-soaked Nails

November 20, 2014

I had an idea of doing gradient nails where the colors are contrasting. But then, any common contrast combination won’t be that much of a fun either, don’t you think? So I thought, why not mix a nude shade with something really dark 🙂

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Sunscreen at daytime, always.
Double Cleanse at night, a must!

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

Thankfully, I do find it quite easy to follow journey and explore the fragrances. Many of the scents are easily loved, yet they don’t feel that mass either. Some of them are light enough to be combined with each other.

It’s also convenient that each scent is available in 3 sizes: 2.5 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml.
