Acne and Blemish Busters – Spot Treatment Options

August 1, 2017

One of two most asked questions I receive often is how to get rid of acne. The other being how to fade the spots they leave behind. Acne is a bitch to begin with. It’s most people’s biggest nemesis in terms of skin problem. I don’t think there’s anyone out there who wants to have any. It doesn’t matter whether a person only have one or the whole skin is covered with them. Dealing with acne is a tough work, even continuous to many.

It’s not just about skincare, because it can only do so much. It comes down greatly to our genes, lifestyle and environment. There are potent treatments like Roaccutane for severe cases and I have seen some gruesome side effects from it – this I would only recommend if you have problem that’s rooted internally. Otherwise, sticking to topical treatment and taking great care of our health are the best bet.

This post though, will cover the topical treatment that I have tried, specifically for spot treating.

Leahlani Masks – Even Ants Love Them!

November 14, 2016

So, this is the review that so many people have been waiting for.

I first came across Leahlani Skincare through Nic from Organic Obsessions. sometime last year. She’s always praising (and wearing) Mermaid Mask and from there on I get to know more about Leah and her work. I knew something is very special here. I have to try it for myself and boy, I certainly get more than just a skincare.

Leahlani Skincare is a mix of organic botanicals and clays, delicious tropical fruits, and pure organic Hawaiian nectars blended in intimate, aloha-infused batches on the lush north shore of Kauai.

There is a reason why it took very long for me to write the review. I have used her products for a year now and I enjoy it very much. Maybe too much that I don’t feel I have the capability on describing the way they make my skin look and the whole experience. I want to express and do her products justice. Somehow I didn’t feel I was able to. It’s like I am out of the league here.

But let me just try.

All Three Bravura Acid Toners in One Bowl

October 5, 2016

So, aside from buying Bravura Acid Peels, I also went on getting all the three acid toners as well. I figured I can further tailoring the exfoliating routine down to the T with these.

In the beginning, I thought they would be more less the same but I actually can notice the difference between all three. Without further adieu, let’s get to them.

Odacité Bl+C – Handy Little Helper

September 19, 2016

After Pa+G, Odacité Bl + C (Black Cumin + Cajeput) is my second pick from its Serum Concentrate line. I specifically wanted this because God knows I suffer breakout once in a while and I need to be prepared.

It was a little bit tricky at first but I found the leeway into it.

Tailor The Skin with Bravura Acid Peels

May 17, 2016

I adore chemical exfoliation. My first encounter with acid was First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads, leading to my holy grail Sunday Riley Good Genes, have changed my life and the way I do my skincare routine. I don’t think I could ever live without it now.

Dabbling in acids hasn’t always been the easiest affair. It can get confusing at times. My personal rule has always been and will always be “do not over exfoliate”. With that in mind, I know that it’s best to keep it simple and tactical.

Speaking of simplicity, the products I’m about to review are the ones that give me exactly that. Straightforward and on pointe.

The Ambidextrous Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask

April 18, 2016

I was looking for a mask that’s different than the usual clarifying or purifying type. I want something that’s more moisturizing and nurturing. Turns out, this particular product offers both.

This is quite possibly one of the most versatile skincare products I’ve encountered as of late.

My Japan Holiday Trip – Skincare Routine

March 10, 2016

I thought I should share what skincare products I brought and used during my recent Japan trip. This particular one is special because I’ve yet traveled in any winter weather since I started my skincare journey few years ago. So let’s just say this is sort of an educated experiment that turned successful.

Obviously, I researched and visualized the weather conditions and temperature. It was the end of winter, coming into spring. With that in mind, I had a general idea of a set of products that I want to bring with me. Of course, they have to fit into my skincare bag. I had to negotiate here and there to make sure the bag isn’t too heavy. The total weight overall came to around 1 – 1.5 kg, I think. Or probably more *HA*. The bag did feel heavy.

Another info you need to know is I got sick a couple days before my departure. Sore throat, fatigue, headache. All escalated into one nasty cold, congestion with frequent coughing within the first few days of my trip. Thank goodness, I was prepared.

Without further adieu, let’s get to it!

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Sunscreen at daytime, always.
Double Cleanse at night, a must!

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

Thankfully, I do find it quite easy to follow journey and explore the fragrances. Many of the scents are easily loved, yet they don’t feel that mass either. Some of them are light enough to be combined with each other.

It’s also convenient that each scent is available in 3 sizes: 2.5 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml.
