Bioré Makeup Remover for Eye and Lip – Pow Wow

November 11, 2014

There is one product that I always use before I start the whole double cleansing ordeal at night. I have been using it for as long as I can remember, I believe it’s not too long after it was launched to the public.

Pizza Saran Wrap Nails

November 7, 2014

I know, I know, the name is not exactly enticing. But, that was what le boyfriend called it. The look is created by using saran wrap. There are two ways to use this unseemly material. You can cut a piece of it, crumple it a little and use it as a sponge substitute, dabbing motion included. Second, by actually wrapping your nails in it.

I did the latter.

I was aiming for something summery and bright. Color palette for this one:

ADDICTION Cheek Polish 01 Chic – The Underdog

November 4, 2014

My first venture with ADDICTION Cheek Polish in Tadzio has led me into getting another one. I contemplated between the shade Revenge, Fresh and Chic. I ultimately, well, almost instantly went for the latter because I was in a nude blush state at that time. I still am though, nude blushes are fantastic, to say the least.

Wishlist: Loose Powders

October 31, 2014

I have been a loyal fan of Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre for as long as I can remember. I trust this to set any foundation that I use. Even though now I rarely wear foundations, I still use this before my pressed powder (I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural nowadays) and after makeup base/primer. It sets and holds the makeup beautifully. It has a rather matte finish. I don’t mind it because I prefer to go matte rather than going dewy from the get go. I like my face smooth to the touch, not tacky.

I’d say the price is very reasonable for a high end brand. At USD 52, it contains 30 grams of product. Huge amount and it lasts for a really long time, at least 1.5 years or so for me. Bottom line, it’s perfect.

That being said though, I’ve grown rather bored of it. It’s still a great powder. I’m just trying to expand my wings on the powder field. After looking around, I’ve come up with several products in the consideration box.

KORRES Wild Rose Daily Brightening & Refinishing Buff Cleanser

October 28, 2014

That’s one heck of a name. Seriously though, what is up with the long names? Let’s just call it KORRES Wild Rose Buff Cleanser, shall we? Or Buff Cleanser. I got this in a set with KORRES Wild Rose Sleeping Facial. Amazing set, amazing deal, I couldn’t have asked for more.

Ever since I saw this showed up on Sephora, I wanted to grab it right away. Good thing that I waited, otherwise I would kick myself hard when I see the set being sold.

I have TATCHA on My Nails

October 24, 2014

If you happen to follow my writings (here and here) and Instagram, you’ll know that I have an affinity to TATCHA, a US-based, Japanese skincare brand that’s created based on the ancient geisha beauty rituals, found in a 200 year-old manuscript. The packaging and the presentation of the brand is breathtaking. And it’s not just some marketing gimmick, the products are actually wonderful.

Speaking of inspiration, this nail art post will be inspired by none other than TATCHA. I’ve acquired quite a few of the products recently and they are just beyond words, so beautiful. And I wanted to do something as a tribute to the brand. A nail art was the first thing that came to my mind.

The image below is one of the TATCHA’s promotional images that became the base of my inspiration.

BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE

Cleanse – Hydrate – Moisturize – Protect (SPF)

Sunscreen at daytime, always.
Double Cleanse at night, a must!

Exfoliate regularly, as necessary, and don’t overdo it.
Don’t forget to use a Hydrating Toner after Exfoliating Acid Toner to prevent dryness and irritation.

Opt for calming and soothing products more than anything else. Pick gentle cleansers. Aim for hydration and moisture. Maintain the skin barrier.

Proper hydration and balanced moisturization are key to achieving a healthy skin, even if your skin is oily.

Always be gentle on your skin.

Thankfully, I do find it quite easy to follow journey and explore the fragrances. Many of the scents are easily loved, yet they don’t feel that mass either. Some of them are light enough to be combined with each other.

It’s also convenient that each scent is available in 3 sizes: 2.5 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml.

Do you have a favorite from this brand?
