The Reformulated Shiseido White Lucent Series

Years ago, when I first started my skincare journey, one of the first things I wanted to tackle was hyperpigmentation. I developed these dark spots during my younger days not wearing sunscreen and found out I am prone to it anyway thanks to my dad’s genes. I am also aware that they don’t go easily so I never hoped for anything miraculous. It’s a long term journey and I’m up for it.

The first skincare products that I tried that specifically target this issue is Shiseido White Lucent, the old one with the white and pale pink packaging. I used three products: the lotion, serum and emulsion. I used this set in the morning until I finished my second bottle of the serum. Not many knows but I don’t play much with my morning skincare routine. I usually stick with the same products over and over again with very few rotations. I keep the big guns at night, that’s why. But having a brightening set was something I always try to have in the routine and morning time is the perfect allocation for it. So after the old Shiseido White Lucent, I moved on to a different brand but with similar functions. Then after seeing results I figured I’d lay off and try the usual mash of different brands à la Kae.

Then suddenly, Shiseido revamped the whole thing.

My Japan Holiday Trip – Skincare Routine

I thought I should share what skincare products I brought and used during my recent Japan trip. This particular one is special because I’ve yet traveled in any winter weather since I started my skincare journey few years ago. So let’s just say this is sort of an educated experiment that turned successful.

Obviously, I researched and visualized the weather conditions and temperature. It was the end of winter, coming into spring. With that in mind, I had a general idea of a set of products that I want to bring with me. Of course, they have to fit into my skincare bag. I had to negotiate here and there to make sure the bag isn’t too heavy. The total weight overall came to around 1 – 1.5 kg, I think. Or probably more *HA*. The bag did feel heavy.

Another info you need to know is I got sick a couple days before my departure. Sore throat, fatigue, headache. All escalated into one nasty cold, congestion with frequent coughing within the first few days of my trip. Thank goodness, I was prepared.

Without further adieu, let’s get to it!

Shiseido ULTIMUNE, Quite The Booster.

One of last year’s skincare product releases that I was very eager to try is the Shiseido ULTIMUNE Power Infusing Concentrate. There is just something about it that spoke to me when I first started seeing it surfacing across the net. It was everywhere…

Of course here in Indonesia, we get everything late. So I made a mental note to get this on my trip to Hong Kong in last November. To my surprise, I didn’t know that there are different sizes. I decided to get the 50 ml bottle. I got it at SASA, there was a promotion going on and I paid HKD 688 for this. It was the first thing that I bought when I stepped into one of the many shops and I couldn’t be more happier.

So happy that I used it at my first night staying in Hong Kong.

The Easy-Going Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum

It’s befuddling how browsing the net could bring us to. I’m always astonished, because otherwise I won’t be able to find the vast amount of information and of course, new products to try.

It was just a harmless (yeah, right) snooping around a certain beauty website’s brands list and chanced upon this brand. I then proceeded and read a bit about the brand’s history and philosophy, including the founder’s story. And it was really a chemistry sparked from the get-go. So, I took the plunge.

Shiseido Ibuki Gentle and Purifying Cleansers – Good Basics

A while ago, I was looking for a face cleanser, yeah, like I need another one. I was looking for something simple, no fuss-type of cleanser. Shiseido Ibuki came to mind. I’ve been wanting to try this line for quite some time anyway. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect when that day I received an invitation to a Shiseido bazaar. The sale offered a very good deal, all products were all for 25% off, makeup and skincare. And 40% off for discontinued products. I honestly didn’t expect to see the Ibuki line over there, considering it’s still fairly new in town.

But whaddya know, they were there. I was this close to go unrestrained and buy so many different things. But, I was there for one thing only. Well, OK, I ended with two: Shiseido Ibuki Gentle Cleanser and Ibuki Purifying Cleanser.
